| Come and join us for a tour to Celorico de Basto
It is told that the tree “camellia” was brought to this area in the 16th century. The camellias blooms all around in the parks and gardens of this small village. It is told that the oldest camellia existing in Portugal blooms in the gardens of the Casa do Campo and is about 250 years old. This manour house is nowadays a private guest house, since 1987. In their gardens we can admire the beautiful camellia arches and allyways.
We will visit the gardens of the Quinta do Prado, a manour house where the offices of the tawn hall are situated.
We will have the oportunity to see this wonderful gardens covered with the colourful camelias or in winter just the green of their trees.
Lunch:
In a traditional farm 14 km away from Celorico de Basto.
The lunch will be served in the kitchen, with the family, the owners of the farm.
Free time, after lunch to walk around or take a rest.
